Breath

Every experience in life has a direct and immediate impact on your breath; whether you are scared or excited, sleeping or running, your breath changes. We use this irrefutable connection to access the physical and emotional body, using the breath to create an immediate and specific impact on your health & wellbeing, awareness & connection.

We will work through safely and effectively building your breathwork practice,  until we are ready to embark upon & develop your own ‘Pranayama’ practice – a traditional modality involving extension and suspension of breath. I offer a sanctuary as we encourage each breath to become a mindful journey, unlocking pathways to inner tranquility and self-knowledge, alleviating stress, enhancing focus, and igniting a profound sense of calm.

Using the breath to provide us with a window to the mind and
a path towards greater peace.

Why Pranayama?

if you want to tackle the mind, you must tackle the breath”

– Sri OP Tiwariji

Mindfulness techniques have become very popular in today’s overstressed, ‘busy-centric’ culture and yet, in truth, asking the mind to be still is an advanced practice indeed. However, by using the breath as an access point, we are able to more easily teach the body to move from sympathetic response (‘fight or flight’) to parasympathetic response (‘rest and digest’).

The regulated breathing techniques, or Pranayama, that I have studied and been practising for over a decade provide the tools to the body and mind to choose a calmer path during times of stress.

My breathwork & pranayama clients report better sleep, calmer reactions to life’s stressors and increased awareness of stress responses allowing greater harmony in both work and family life. A few minutes of practice each day also sets them up to be more connected, more intuitive and therefore more productive.

Pranayama For Yoga Teachers

As a Pranayama Specialist from the lineage of one of the world’s last remaining classical Pranayama Masters, Sri OP Tiwari of Kaivalyadhama, and having also studied for over a decade under Tiwariji’s senior student and Pranayama Master, Dr Paul Dallaghan PhD, I understand the great importance of correct pranayama breathwork education and its application in yogic teaching.

I would love to help you deepen your understanding of Pranayama, both from an historic and philosophical perspective, whilst grounded in modern science and with practical application at the fore, so that you may explore the depths of practice yourself and then eventually offer its richness within your own classes.
